Narrow London Garden
Aspect: S.W. facing
Size: 4m wide x 11m deep

Brief: To create a space for relaxation & entertainment. Relatively low maintenance but good colour & winter interest. Privacy from neighbours. Make a narrow garden look wider.

Concept: A series of terraces on different levels creates a sense of space and drawing you into the garden. Two square slate terraces are set at 90 degree angles to increase the perceived width of the garden. A raised sun deck at the end of the garden is sheltered by silver birch which create privacy, and provides a large enough space to set out a table for a dinner or lunch party.

A tool shed is hidden behind a panel of trellis which also serves to hide the end wall of the house and is covered with scented climbers.

Foliage in shades of green & purple is complemented by a changing palette of flowers in purple, lilac & white, creating a cool and calm composition.
